Damn it's hard to find good cameramen these days, Zac thought as he entered the Safari Zone. Ever since Devin went off to Kanto on some humanitarian aid documentary mission Zac had been out in the wild on his own. Sure he had three Minior to help him catch the wonders of the natural world, but a top-shelf Devin was worth at least 8 Minior.

The horse was beautiful. Shimmering and effervescent, it emerged from the forest glade like a beam of Spring sunshine sliding between budding leaves.
Zac let out a gasp as the creature entered his life like a friend he'd always been missing. "Sorry buddy," Zac said, tears in his eyes, "but I've, uh, gotta catch some Minior."
The horse nuzzled his leg, and Zac remembered he had FOUR pokeballs. "Huh. Well, I guess I don't need four Minior THIS time. And i can always come back..."

No sooner had Zac caught the adorable pony than a he noticed a pastel blue and pink hat poking out of the grass. He frowned and shook his head. "Looks like somebody didn't clean up after their birthday party," he said, picking up the hat by its sparkly, pointed tip. She hat let out a squeak of alarm, and so did Zac. "Ah! What in the-" he bent down the get a better look at the hat-shaped Pokemon. "Sorry about that little guy!" Zac said, scooping the hat up more gently. It looked hurt, though the long gashes down its fuzzy hide were probably not from Zac's grabbing. "Let me fix you up," he said, drawing some life energy from the surrounding bushes. Grass wilted in a ring around him, and the wound on the little hat scabbed, sealed, and disappeared. "There we go! Sorry about the grabbing. Do you wanna come with me?"

Zac stood in the midsty of the blooming wild grasses, with one hand petting the mane of his new pony friend and a new, snuggly hat set on his head. His insides felt as warm as Spring sunshine, and the air itself seemed to be filled with glitter.
Red light washed over the group, making Zac look terribly sunburnt. He looked up to see a glowing crimson orb. Zac beamed at the arrival as it descended from the sky like a slow comet. "And there we go! A perfect little Minior! They've been sold out for weeks on Abrazon!" Zac said, and he jumped up to grab the orb from the sky. It shuddered in his hands, bleeding the bright red light, and Zac smiled. "Now I can finally get that perfect, 4-way shot! I'm gonna call you Lup!" he said, cradling the Minior.

With Minior in hand, Zac felt happy. He inspected the orb for damage, found none, and healed it just in case. The grass around them wilted as green healing rushed into the orb, transforming its red glow into a pleasant emerald. "Whoa! Oh, uh, okay. I guess Lup doesn't have the right ring to it. Maybe Merle? Yeah, that's much better."

Something wet and squishy glorped by unpleasantly, but Zac was too enthralled by his new Minior to notice.

Zac played catch with Merle. Literally. He tossed the orb up into the air, and watched with a grin as it slowly floated down. He hurled it over the trees to test its range, and the soft green light bobbed back to him through the branches. He rolled it through the grass, and it came running back to him on stumpy little legs. "Huh?" Zac said, picking up the Happiny. It held out a little present for him, which Zac took, confused.
Merle rolled into his leg with a soft thump, and Zac smiled, looking around at the four new friend he had made. "Come on guys, it's time to head home!"
